DAG processing depresses me because it turns into a mess real quickly... wish there was some sort of grammar to write transforms that can cover every use case

I use dags fairly frequently, but have rarely needed to transform them, outside of clipping redundant graph connections. (Ie, if a->b->c, you can remove a->c). What sort of transformations do you need?
