What's a good noun to use as an umbrella term for a graphics API call that actually *does* something? Like draws, dispatches, clears, copies/resolves/blits etc as opposed to state setting. In RenderDoc I use 'draw' or 'drawcall' for legacy reasons but it's not that accurate.
Do you want single words? Or is something like Work Submission okay? I like Invocation. Procedure also seems sufficiently descriptive yet broad.

Single words are preferable for something like this but it's not a strict requirement. Submit terminology is quite heavily associated with submitting command buffers to a queue though. Procedure or invocation could work, though perhaps associates too closely to shader execution?
