Remember what work was like without Slack? Because that just a few years ago.
Depends on which company I was with. Some communicated heavily with emails. Others with messenger services. At another a combo of email and IRC. TBH it wasn’t much different than today. Maybe more voice calls / screen sharing today.

But, crucially: those are not locked behind a gatekeeper. Neither email or IRC require a remote server to work for the *applications* to even work. You can still read email and IRC backlogs when a server disappears.

And this is one of the reasons you won't find me on Slack, at least not for Blender related stuff. Open platforms and standards FTW!
