Current status: butchering a 3rd party SDK to make it more fault tolerant and wondering when this reward for not building my own is going to kick in.

Most of it is open-source, but the front-end bits where I knew I'd be doing this anyway, I transcribed to local code base standards (ended up deleting a few thousand lines of "interop" code).
