Open source developers -- If your work is used in a commercial product, you deserve to be paid for it. I strongly urge you to structure your licenses so that code you write is free only for noncommercial uses. Otherwise, you're encouraging exploitative practices. 1/2
After awhile, couldn't the community create a template license just like we already have for other licenses?

Any revenue based license would add "records and audits" clause, which then affects both sides. The user needs to keep those records, and then open source developer needs to spend money to do audits. It just doesn't make any sense if you're not intend to make money from OS.
