I’d been thinking about this picture all morning. It even sent me on a wiki link rabbit hole when I wanted to know how holloways are formed. I think I ended up on oldest roads in the world and ancient road construction methods.

Ah yes there are some really great holloways in this area. Like this one: https://thedorsetrambler.com/2015/02/20/holloways-and-sunken-paths-the-mysterious-ancient-highways/ … In fact just a bit further down the road in the pic there was water running down into the road and going all the way to the bottom. Erosion and human activity are big factors afaik.
