Or heck, I could just have a game set in Australia or New Zealand and do my summer celebrations in January. Blizzard is hip to this idea, as it made Christmas sprays for its two Aussie Overwatch characters showing them lounging in beach chairs.

GW1 has Wintersday in July. Most MMOs try to have a celebration every month, albeit often smaller ones. Inverting the year might not buy you much.

Didn't know that about GW1. Still, the big holidays would probably stand out more if they weren't up against the other big holidays.
