I don't find this argument worthwhile. Concepts provide features sfinae can't do (https://youtu.be/A3_xrqr5Kdw ), and provide it with cleaner reading code. Error messaging can improve -- it's a compiler thing, not a standard thing.
Without concepts, we definitely won't have good error messages. With concepts, we can get there. Just because we don't get to the goal in one step doesn't mean the step isn't worth taking.
