"Shared World Shooter: Destiny's Networked Mission Architecture" is such a refreshing read. It solidified an amazing amount of ideas I had for a long time (I'm no expert) and assured me I wasn't an idiot. Destiny 2 changed a bunch with physics but it's very similar. Worth a read.
