I was always very serious on our Video color Pipeline with calibrating to 709 etc. Now i just try to match iphone / iPad Colors on our workstations. It works great. Clients are happy and footage looks 99% great on all kind of devices.
This touches on something me and my coworker have discussed. If everybody does it wrong, it basically makes wrong right. Simply because that’s what the user expects.

Most of the workflow concepts in the color pipelines are oldschool and almost outdated(There i said it). Colorists complain often about clients with their crappy devices and what else. Nobody cares. Just make the client happy and let go of all the learned BS by whoever. It’s 2020
