I wonder how that one came about. Acre is for about as my land as one worker could work in a day or something like that. So you’d know how many workers to hire. Is the rod/chain thing some similar useful approximation?
Not saying it makes the imperial system worth keeping. Only that I find the historical purposes of it interesting, especially as inspiration for fictional world-building.
