Screen coordinates are -1-1 at the bottom left. UV is 0,0 at the bottom left. Image editors are (often) 0,0 at the top left. Reading an image file is <flip coin>. I understand why these are all different, but that doesn't mean I like it.
Like -1,-1 vs 0,0 especially makes sense, but could we all agree about them being either topleft or bottomleft? There's probably some image format that reads in vertical lines just to spite the world.

Isn’t that the case for the old WAD format in the original DOOM? Would make sense because wall textures were rendered in vertical lines
