Anyone have experience with Utility AI using Influence Maps and LOS? I have a use case where designers want AI to pick the best spot to attack a target from. I could render a basic LOS mask from the POV of the target and then use that as a mask, but expensive for multi agents...

I was originally thinking of something similar but hadnt thought of combining multiple agents in a single map. Then my designers said they needed LOS to also be blocked by the landscape (ie hills)... Time to rethink the approach :)

I don’t know the nature of your game, but if LOS is an inheritly 3D thing, a 2D imap May simply not be the right tool. 3D imap would be even more expensive. Have you considered only creating a local imap? Say, 16x16 around a unit?
