@RoyEltham I've been doing rendering engine work for some years at this point. The more I do it the more I drift back toward major design characteristics in the DEEP engine. Of which I believe you were a primary author.

The original DEEP code was authored by myself and Jay Ryness. We built it for FreeRealms which had to run on intel 865 integrated graphics, all the way up to SM2+ cards. It changed a lot after Planetside 2. Kris Lang & others came in and did a lot to it for H1Z1 and later.

Let me ask you both a real question, as I never understood this when I worked at SOE. How did PS2 look and run so great, and H1Z1 ran and looked like absolute dogshit? Like, seriously.
