Knowing how many things in #SoftwareEngineering that were considered "good practice" and are now considered poor practice, I have to wonder about how mere humanity is involved in this.
Notably, how many of these things do we have now, and does this happen in other industries?
For instance, OOP dominated the early to late 00's, and now it's in vogue to laugh at how bad OOP is. What's going on now that we'll laugh at later? But that's kinda "meh" because the implications are fairly mild, excepting some specialties like security.

But what about other industries? Medical? Mental? Dental? Pediatrics? Automotive Safety? Military? Doing "poor practices" in these industries could have devastating effects, right? Does this happen? What have been the effects of it?
