Had the weirdest thought today. Pointers are often difficult to teach in c/c++ but they’re basically like a tweet? Or rather, you could think of memory as a tweet. And when you share someone else’s tweet, you’re pointing to it.

The way in which it addresses some mental models about pointers is that a link to a tweet could be to 1 tweet, or it could be to the beginning of a thread of tweets. Or it could be to the middle of a thread of tweets, but there’s significance to the offset.

I’ve also been helping with more chores than usual while my wife is pregnant. I was able to make the most of it by employing things I do when programming. Especially as it relates to tasks, there’s a lot to adopt.

Ie, why would you sit and wait for the washer to be done before moving it to the dryer? You’d go do something else in the mean time. Likewise, why would you sit around waiting for a file to load?
