I will say that domain matters. Ie, when writing a utility class, like Array, or Hashmap, I follow a different paradigm.

Yeah. I'm also a bit envious of C#'s in, out, and ref keywords to declare parameters as read-only, write-only, or fully mutable... with compiler enforcement. My workaround is variable names prefixed with "in" "out" and "inout"... hoping I notice wrong use and become suspicious.

Although "in" is mostly covered by const, of course... and that's the most important one.
