Whoever says right now that this is less concerning than the flu knows either more than the epidemiologists, or has incredible trust in quarantine. More likely, they believe that reality is a social construct.

Unless you follow up your “it depends” or “it’s all about trade-offs” with an actual disposition of WHAT it depends on or HOW to weigh those trade-offs, you’re saying less than nothing. It’s an intellectual pause button.

Wow, this is incredible: A guy controlling a robotic arm with his mind at a distance 😮 Ten years ago, this would have been science fiction; now it's science fact. Wonder where we'll be in another ten years...

“An Avast antivirus subsidiary sells 'Every search. Every click. Every buy. On every site.' Its clients have included Home Depot, Google, Microsoft, Pepsi, and McKinsey”, it should be just as illegal to buy personal data as it should be to steal it.

TIL: middle schoolers use Docs as a chat app & Sheets as a form of Slack (each slide is a new topic/channel) since other products are blocked at class. Ingenious! h/t Any other product hacks the kiddos are doing?

Hey developer twitter, let’s try to stop posting screenshots of code and those code-to-fancy-image generator things. Screen readers can’t read them. Post a link to a gist or repo instead/as well.

A thing that frustrates me abt explaining computer stuff is we always say computers use "base 2", "zeroes and ones". But individual bits aren't addressable, you only interact with them as math ops. It would be more correct to treat BYTES as "digits" and say computers use base 256

Nobody believes me I 3x’d my salary by leaving .NET community and nobody thinks any of the .NET community is the actual reason. Let me tell you some stories because .NET is having it’s Java moment.

If MSFT truly wants to take part in programming lang future it’s not via CoreCLR. Too late. The industry doesn’t want runtime installs. They like Go and Rust but Go is too simplistic at times and Rust is too hard at times. There’s an appetite for a non-GC easier to use lang
