This is true, also "tracks" tend to cluster around individual rooms. Attendees interested in a specific subject area have the added convenience of not having to change rooms every session. We see tracks as an "attendee experience" feature. For great AX, the little things add up

First I avoid talks by anyone who wears sunglasses on their Twitter picture. :) Then look for topics I like, certainly not confined by area.

Track themes are basically mini-conferences with smaller sample sizes, and therefore it is likely that within-track variance of everything is higher.

I try and spot the sponsored talks and avoid them. Otherwise I ignore most tracks and other labels.

Tracks help with planning, it's more obvious if you have messed up and put lots of talks in one topic area all in one timeslot. But at the event, I'm all about topic (and maybe speaker since I'm a speaker and I watch speakers to learn)
