Finally get to share one of the most exciting things we () will ever work on: If you put compute and storage into the fabric of the internet itself, there is no need and no value in having an origin anymore. This will change how people build.

Deps just have weird deps I guess hahah, include a date parser, get mongo driver!

Go mods seem a bit weird so far, always end up with Mongo drivers, must just be funky deps of deps but it's really unclear why they're added and `go mod why` doesn't say anything, and accidental imports start modifying your deps

Especially important in scenarios where you have append-only storage—metrics in my case, which cannot be re-written :D

Was playing around with Lambda functions yesterday, it's impressive how easy UP makes it to deploy services on the fly!

Google's Cloud Functions are starting to sound more appealing than AWS Lambda — lots of built in libraries, in-cloud deps installed, env variables which actually make sense

I love that you can add some fmt.Printf's in Go's stdlib quickly to see how something works and just run your program as normal, no need to re-compile some massive thing to poke around

🍃 Parcel v1.9.0 does tree shaking on both ES6 and CommonJS modules! This is a HUGE deal since most of the code on npm is still CommonJS. Try it out today with the `--experimental-scope-hoisting` flag! 📝 Read more about how it works here:

It's always so tempting though hahaha, I don't know why! Just see how you can stretch the language to trade expressiveness for comprehension, but it's just neverrrrr worth it

"if they are unnecessary and simply cute, don't do them" — - pretty sure I still do this always, and in Express/Koa/Mocha, it's always the multi-purpose functions or magical getter/setter that ends up never being worth the explanation

worst case use a Lambda for access control logic. This kind of stuff will be the bulk of what most people work with in the future, almost completely client-side

haven't tried any of this yet but it's cool to see AWS finally going after a Firebase style suite of client-side APIs , AFAIK with IAM pretty much every AWS service can be locked down and accessible to the client
