Hmm. I feel like a lot of the issues you're solving here are almost better solved by apache-nosejob style gocode, although I like the OOB technique for IDs evasion points :)

I have many questions. In particular and I don't know if this is true on modern windows we previously have had problems when you call socket APIs on handles that are not sockets in that the API just hangs...
