If the message is ‘anything goes’, it usually does (see, D.C./Portland). Our democracy is more fragile than most realize. Regardless of political party, we all need to uphold our most basic rules including zero tolerance for terror or violence to advance political agendas!

Edward Snowden is a traitor. He is responsible for the largest and most damaging release of classified info in US history. He handed over US secrets to Russian and Chinese intelligence putting our troops and our nation at risk. Pardoning him would be unconscionable.

Many heroes in the fight against COVID are under appreciated. The kind volunteers who took part in the vaccine trials gave up their time and faced uncertain health outcomes in service to the rest of us. We owe them our respect and appreciation. Thanks to everyone of them!

Wearing masks indoors/close quarters clearly helps prevent virus spread. Freedom without responsibility doesn’t last. In our sadly divided country, let’s at least show we care enough about each other to wear our masks in crowded places.

Disbanding or defunding the police is a naive and dangerous idea. But, we can unite to improve our criminal justice system. For example, we don’t need to over criminalize non-violent behaviors that are mostly driven by mental health or chemical dependency issues.

What happened to George Floyd was tragic and wrong but looting and violent riots can’t be tolerated. They were foreseeable and should have been firmly shut down early. This has risen to the level of domestic terrorism. The response must be immediate and overwhelming. Enough.
