Yes! Let’s get our JOBS Act across the finish line to help people get good jobs with good wages.

I know that the path to a good paying job is not always through college. I am working hard to pass the JOBS Act to ensure Wisconsinites can access and afford high-quality, shorter-term job training and move our Wisconsin economy forward.

The Administration has taken decisive action against the Chinese balloon. China’s spying is ill-timed, inexcusable, and incompetent. Sec. Blinken was right to scrap a diplomatic summit until China comes clean. This will be a major focus of our Foreign Relations hearing this week.

JUST IN: The US economy gained an astonishing 517,000 jobs in January – much better than expected. Unemployment rate: 3.4% --> Lowest in decades. Wages: +4.4% for past year (up 0.3% in January) Bottom line: This is NOT an economy in recession

We can never flirt with debt default—it could mean seniors miss out on Social Security checks, veterans miss out on benefits, servicemembers miss paychecks. Amid House Republicans threatening default, our bill would take this risk off the table and protect working Americans.

Traveling around Virginia, I hear from business owners looking for skilled workers—and workers looking for good jobs. Let’s help workers and businesses by lowering the cost of job training. Our JOBS Act would finally let people use Pell Grants for quality job training programs.

As a civil rights lawyer, I saw how non-competes hurt workers and hurt a flourishing economy. I’ve long believed we should curb this unjust practice.  Glad to be a sponsor of the bipartisan Workforce Mobility Act to support workers.

I’m heading to the Senate floor right now to speak about an important bill I am introducing today. The bipartisan Workforce Mobility Act bans the use of noncompete clauses in employment contracts. A ban would be good for wages and innovation! Tune in on @cspan.

Awesome. Congrats Captain Days!

History in the making for @USNavy. Captain Janet Days to assume duties as Naval Station Norfolk's 51st Commanding Officer on Friday. Days will be the first-ever African American woman to serve as c.o. in the 106-year history of the world's largest Naval base. @13NewsNow

On #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor the immense contributions Black Americans have made to Virginia and our nation—often in the face of tremendous adversity. Let’s redouble our efforts to address racial injustice—advancing economic opportunity, health equity, policing reform.

Heartbroken by this news. My prayers are with Lucian Johan Woods’ loved ones and the entire USS George Washington community. I’m committed to leading the charge to better support our Sailors, including through more resources in our annual defense bill for mental health services.

For too long, Virginia’s neighbors in D.C. have been subjected to taxation without proper representation.  I was proud to sponsor legislation to grant D.C. statehood and extend real representation to its citizens. It’s long past time to get this done.

Following a week when the world commemorates those lost in the Holocaust, antisemitic filth is being spread on flyers around Charlottesville. America’s First Freedom—all can worship, or not, as they please without fear. We must stand with our Jewish neighbors against hate.

Cybersecurity is national security, and I know we can train the next gen of cyber professionals right here in VA. Today, and I met with folks at Germanna Community College and celebrated the $840,000 federal investment we secured to grow their cybersecurity program.

Last week, I sponsored the Assault Weapons Ban of 2023. While this won’t prevent every senseless act of gun violence, it’s a reasonable step that will help protect our communities from high-capacity weapons—and will undoubtedly save lives.

Sickened by the murder of Tyre Nichols. Let’s come together to pray for his loved ones and peacefully call for justice. Let’s pass our Justice in Policing Act to address police misconduct. Far too many Black Americans have been victims of police brutality—we cannot be bystanders.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the 6 million Jews who were killed and commit to stand against hate. I’m also thinking about the diplomats who refused to be bystanders to this evil and helped Jews escape Nazi-occupied Europe. Let us honor and learn from their courage.

The economy is growing. Unemployment is at record lows. 11 million jobs were created in the past 2 years—including 750k manufacturing jobs. Inflation is coming down. Wages are up. Let’s build on this progress to further reduce costs and create jobs for Virginians and Americans.

Enjoyed seeing my friends from Virginia’s seafood processing businesses. These small, family-owned businesses have annual issues getting the H-2B visas they need to meet their seasonal labor needs, so and I are committed to finding a permanent solution for them.

Democrats just lowered prescription drug costs for seniors and provided relief to bring health insurance premiums down. But R’s want to add 30 percent on top of all your bills. Nope!

House Republicans are pushing a bill to add a 30% national sales tax on all goods and services, even your medical bills! They call it the Fair Tax Act. Doesn’t sound fair to me.

Roe v. Wade was decided 50 years ago today. After the Supreme Court overturned the decision, we must restore a woman’s right to make her own personal health decisions. Our bipartisan Reproductive Freedom For All Act would protect the right to abortion and contraception.

Horrific. My heart is with everyone impacted by this tragedy following a Lunar New Year celebration. We cannot become numb to these senseless mass shootings. We have so much more to do to make our communities safer. It’s long past time to act.

The US gave a gift to the world in its protection of religious freedom. But that right is under threat at home and abroad. I celebrate America’s rich tapestry of spiritual belief and call on all to stand against those who attack any faith tradition.

During this week in 1786, the Virginia legislature passed the Statute of Religious Freedom, guaranteeing the right to worship—or not—as you please and preventing government action preferring or punishing you for the choice you make. It became the foundation for the 1st Amendment.
