Is this an automatic exploit trigger on boot where I would see the respring and everything or a true untether?

It should be exactly the same as the evasion bug, which IIRC did not show the respring.

? No, it's a launchdaemon bug. You'd have to bootstrap a kernel bug you want into the payload. I'm confident the exploit path that makes the most sense is identical to what evasion did.
