Fishermen in the Cumbrian village of Flookburgh and across our country have been banned from selling live shellfish into Europe after the Government failed to negotiate market access for them. Our fishermen have been betrayed and sold down the river - they must be compensated.pic.twitter.com/3tiT2mi9RY

Great to see that @timfarron is doing all that he can to help the plight of fishermen in his area and elsewhere. Shame that the representative for Bridlington is, as usual 'Silent' on this matter.

"Our fishermen have been betrayed and sold down the river" 🤔 I don't think they've been especially lied to our sold down the river..... they've got more or less what we thought they would haven't they?

Can anyone explain to me why the fishing industry ever thought Brexit would work to their advantage?

There is a narrative that the EU has suddenly imposed this on us, as opposed to the truth that we imposed it on ourselves. We need to make it clear that the full ownership of this debacle lies with our own inept Government

Perhaps the money to compensate our fishermen should come directly out of the pockets of those cabinet ministers whose decisions caused the problem.
