The Chancellor has delivered a real terms pay cut for teachers, carers, police officers and so many other public-sector workers today. They have been on the front-line throughout this pandemic, and so to treat them in this way is outrageously rude, ungrateful and unacceptable.

And nothing to #EndOurCladdingScandal. In fact, they have rewarded the developers responsible for our suffering. A symbiotic relationship with developers donating £11mill to @Conservatives last yr & helping them meet their building targets. Let’s call it what it is, corruption!

We are all in it together. Except for the Tories, their mates, their donors and the hedge-funders who bet on no deal Brexit.

Agreed totally but we are in cloud cuckoo land if we dont think we will, one way or another, have to pay for the hundreds of billions the government is currently spending

Fully agree. Especially if MPs get a 3k increase next year. But I suppose we'll be told by #liarjohnson that nothing can be done about that because it's "imposed" by an external body.

Because the alternative is huge tax rises for the Private Sector employees whose incomes have been cut to 80% No Public Sector employee has had their pay cut in the same way We all have to share the burden of this pandemic including the Public Sector

Try being self-employed. 80% of income would be a great outcome.

They can join the pain with private sector then many of whom have seen income drop significantly during the pandemic. As an accountant for 40 years I've never seen anything like the drop in income and despair that has hit private sector workers this year

But the clapping... "Let them eat applause" as someone as famously out-of-touch as @RishiSunak might have said.

Maybe we should be paying our MPs a bit less
