Youtube's copyright dispute system is actually broken. Scenario: Label claims 30 videos on channel due to 1 song. Youtuber disputes 1 of the claims and waits with the other claims until a response has been made, as he's risking getting a strike if he's wrong (3 strikes = banned)

Label receives dispute, and has 30 days to respond to it. Money made from disputed video is put on hold until it's clear who owns the rights. Meanwhile, label gets to keep claiming videos from the channel.

If 5 days pass without Youtuber disputing a claimed video: all money made from the claimed video goes to the claimant, until a dispute is made on the video. All money made before the dispute, the claimant keeps. (image is from google support page)pic.twitter.com/2bPASTJSgi

Therefore, label is free to wait weeks before responding to the 1 dispute, meanwhile making $$ on all other vids that arent disputed. YT claims labels get punished/ability to claim revoked for abusing the function, but lets face it, that'll never happen with these huge companies
