basically any time a woman is mentioned -anywhere- and your chat is above a certain size (or, conversely, small enough, read on) people just storm all the buzzwords. especially simp which is used frequently by anyone who thinks they're "funny" or edgy or whatever

the opposite from above is if you've got a small chat, where everyone's names are visible and maybe they're regulars. and maybe you appreciate their viewership but get... bad vibes. and they use these terms. it's easier to tolerate it if you don't have to listen to that daily

...and with a rule in place you can also simply remove the word/the chatters using them without making it feel like you're an ass or making people want to retaliate for that timeout. personally I would ban each and every person throwing these terms out regularly in a stream

I think I agree with you on "simp" and "virgin," and while we're at it "cuck," but incel?? This just feels like an extremely strange action on a platform where open misogyny ("oh she's a titty streamer") and transphobia ("did u ASSUME my gender") runs rampant

it makes little sense as a comparative action within the scope of chats but makes sense to me as an individual decision. most of these things are tied real closely to misogyny & masculinity (who uses this word? why? what are the edge cases lost as collateral damage?)

Yeah, I agree that "simp" and "virgin" are most often used on twitch in misogynistic and/or masculine-normative contexts, and twitch themselves said they won't pursue banning these words outside of those contexts. But why is "incel" on that list? I guess that's what I don't get
