i think this is a gonna get a lot of eye-roll "lol twitch" reactions but having been in a big chat or two recently I understand where this change is coming from for sure.https://twitter.com/Slasher/status/1339312480057782273 …
Yeah, I agree that "simp" and "virgin" are most often used on twitch in misogynistic and/or masculine-normative contexts, and twitch themselves said they won't pursue banning these words outside of those contexts. But why is "incel" on that list? I guess that's what I don't get

It just feels like a very weird protection to give... I've never seen that word used the same way as simp and virgin. From what I'm seeing from other people, it seems like some weird both sides-ism
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

i would consider the use of incel (context) as an insult to be a worse form of virgin, but it's also a very radical and politically charged one. i do see it used that way, don't underestimate your average mad gamer in any case if it's not just blanket banned then it's fine by me

the term has some... erm, history, but I definitely have seen it used in that non self-identifying way, which is probably how it ended up on this list (a specific grouping of complaints)
