If a game has a street date, and that street date is within the next 6-8 months, it's way too late for you to (say) get standees instead of minis, or minis instead of standees

Also: requesting stuff like this on Board Game Geek dot com directly to a game designer in a forum thread is 10 of 10 cringe-inducing, would not do

What's even more cringe-inducing is when the designer or publisher has the grace to take the time to clarify what is or isn't going to happen in their game, and it doesn't align with what you want, and you *still* keep going and asking for it

lol treating game designers & publishers like it's your mom in the kitchen waiting for you to tell her what you want to eat for a snack.

And honestly: please don't abase yourself by asking a DJ to play something you request. Even if they say "sure" they're not going to; they're just being nice. The only DJ's that take requests are wedding DJ's or karaoke DJ's

I realize what I'm describing is the common currency that powers large parts of the BGG website, but I'm a dreamer

Fun game: replace a BGG user requests for minis or solo rules or metal coins or a wash or an app etc with a horrible song. Thread titles: "Nickelback?" "Will there be any Chainsmokers available after the KS?" "Poll: who else wants "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant?"

I'm probably not getting publisher's distro timeline right either. I have no idea on a granular level how many mths out must a game "lock in" with what will be in the box. I'm also not blowing up designers & publishers while displaying my total lack of business knowledge on BGG

I used to subscribe to far more pre-release games on BGG so I could track info & news. I tend to not do it anymore because there's too much noise in those threads by Area BGG Users such that they're unreadable

But I want that multiplayer conflict game to have a solo mode.

There's such an echo chamber at BGG with most of the criticisms of what games *don't* have. It's never a huge percentage of the actual people that will purchase a game. BGG users are like nevernudespic.twitter.com/lr8X5g5tK8
