It’s cute
@chesaboudin is taking credit for a drop in Murders, Rapes and Assaults when he knows the streets of SF were a ghost town for most of 2020 and early 2021, but not taking credit for where the criminals actually went, robbing homes, garages, cars. Can't have it both ways5 replies 5 retweets 107 likes -
Why did other cities see increases in violent crime then? NYC and LA were up

No comparison for NYC and LA to San Francisco..many multiples higher populations and urban density than SF…not even close to apples to apples. LA’s gang problems are off the charts and NYC has 10x population with public housing projects larger then entire neighborhoods of SF.

Ok, what are municipalities you think are better comps

Why would I make your strange case for you? I’m pointing out, he can’t imply he had something to do with SF’s drop in violent crime in 2020 (we didn’t have much before him either) & nothing to do w/ house/garage/car burglaries, rampant/violent shoplifting. Can’t have both ways

That's not what you're saying. What you're saying is, the good violent crime trend is NOT because of him, it's because of the pandemic, but the bad petty crime trend IS because of him. You're trying to have it both ways the other way

Replying to @connorshepherd @ticojon and
The data supports the interpretation that his policies reduced violent crime by trading it for theft. To which I say, great! Would vote for again!

Cute but dumb. The violent crime numbers are tiny in SF, before Chesa. (Recent history not the 80’s), so the % drops are statistical trickery. House/garage burglaries #’s in my neighborhood are enormous both in amount and %. It’s not funny when you hear window break at 3am.

And what magic neighborhood do you live in that has been immune to nonstop wave of house, garage, car breakins and shoplifting. No one was worried about being murdered in SF before Chesa either. Or do you not actually live in SF?
