We work hard to protect local businesses. We’ve learned organized crime networks are behind much property crime so we’re focused on dismantling organized crime & expanding victim services: last yr our retail theft task force seized $8m in stolen goods.https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/article/Is-shoplifting-rising-in-San-Francisco-Here-s-16272907.php …

Who does
@sfchronicle think “everyone” is anyway? I haven’t encountered one single person in real life who’s talking about shoplifting. Maybe because, as the data shows, there is no actual surge?3 replies 0 retweets 8 likes -
Huh? I live in the Outer Richmond District and our La Playa Safeway and Walgreens on Point Lobos are constantly being hit. I've witnessed at least half a dozen shoplifting incidences, all brazen and a couple violent towards employees. What magical neighborhood do you live in?

Safeway?
You’re agitated because desperate people are trying survive during a global crisis while their government does practically nothing to support them? You do you, boo.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
Safeway, Walgreens, Target, CVS. When those busineses close or reduce hours where do you think people can go to buy, you know, food and medicine? I thought you were denying it was happening? Change your mind on that?

The data denies it’s the problem the Marina is apoplectic over. I didn’t say shoplifting never happens. Safeway & Walgreens are experiencing record profits. They can hire security guards but they don’t.
