The woman who said Emmett Till came onto her lied about what he said. The officer who killed Oscar Grant lied about what he did. The police withheld video of Sandra Bland that tells a different story. There’s a long history of black ppl being killed based on someone else’s lie.

Ok, be specific. Quote me. How so? Which tweet? What games? Which side was I on? What are the sides? Do you get to decide? Who wins? What’s at stake? How does one play at inquiry? Who are the players? Are you the referee? What whistle? What’s the call? What are the rules. Tell me

then come correct and know my background. I didn’t come from money, which is why I love sharing whatever two cents I learned from my MFA. Ok—I’m out 🥰! Peace, love and all the poems offline or online. Here’s to finding whatever conversation or threads or memes are helpful.

but shouldn’t it be okay to have an online scansion session? I mean how cool is that? Of course, we might have missed some things and centered the conversation on our own biases, but if you want to call out the thread, then read the whole thing first. If you want to call out me..

I believe that explicating why you don’t like something is valuable and helpful. It’s obvious to me that some people aren’t reading through the whole thread I did with and others. Yes, they are so many other poems to talk about and praise and promote...

Idk, maybe the shade is getting to me. Maybe I shouldn’t respond to any of this. But I still want to learn. I want to be in constant dialogue with my peers around the WORLD. Cancel culture is easy. We all are trying to survive and thrive in various ways. But...

In grad school (yes, a privileged arena) I often felt alone when I wanted to critique a poem that was problematic. I didn’t posses the language at that time to translate my body heat. Now, I have a better grasp on it. Yesterday, people reached out and said they were thankful...

I want to engage and explicate with said poem with a poet I highly respect and admire??? The rules are constantly changing on here. Of course, ignore, engage, or move on is anyone’s choice, but to belittle and call out someone for wanting to learn via Twitter is wild to me.

Ok, so let me get this straight Poetry Twitter. So it’s silly or futile to spend time talking about a poem that I’m puzzled by & perhaps want to reach out, call out, & wrestle w/ others on here as a way to transcribe feelings & frustrations. But then I’m an “Uncle Tom” if...
