        Jackie is iconic, as a baseball player and also as a person. I will always keep him on the highest of rankings for anyone in baseball history. Satchel is still up there, so are Oscar, Josh, Pop, Buck, Turkey, Mule, Ray, Papa, and Willie too. What matters? Breaking through.

        All the years I lived in Brooklyn Heights, @thorn_john , I always stopped to genuflect at the corner of Montague and Court Streets, at least in the recesses of my un-religious mind. A holy site.
