Not a good idea: The wife of Raif Badawi (the liberal blogger jailed in Saudi Arabia), Ensaf Haidar, who lives in Quebec, hangs out with extreme-right Islamophobe Robert Spencer and refers to him as a "good friend".https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/justice-et-faits-divers/201902/25/01-5215973-la-femme-de-raif-badawi-liee-a-un-auteur-extremiste.php …

Follow up article in La Presse on this, quoting me: few people have heard of Spencer in Quebec, who, like other racists and Islamophobes, amalgamates all members of one group together and fails to differentiate between extremists fringes and the majority.https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/201902/25/01-5216118-ensaf-haidar-dit-etre-injustement-diabolisee.php …

When Raif Badawi's wife hangs out with rightwing extremists and Islamophobes, does it help her husband's cause? I agree with @kick1972 that it does not, though I am not sure it makes it worst; I suspect it simply makes no difference.http://plus.lapresse.ca/screens/2757446c-7f81-47c0-877e-cc210278918b__7C___0.html?utm_medium=Twitter&utm_campaign=Internal+Share&utm_content=Screen …

I read some of Robert Spencer's books and he just calls a spade a spade. How come that, as an atheist, I can say Christianity is bad & harmful and no one calls me a "Christianophobe", but when I say Islam is bad & harmful I get branded an "Islamophobe"? I stand with Ensaf Haidar!pic.twitter.com/Wu9yNtNWHm

The majority simply watches heinous acts of minuscule minority. The former could never control the latter as proved in all 1400 years.

Here is a simple "Spencer test" to determine if someone is on the side of reason, truth, & liberalism or on the side of racism and bigotry: Q: Which statement is false? 1) Robert is an Islamophobic bigot. 2) Richard a racist. If you pick (2) or both, you failed the test.

The definitions are kept ambiguous, nebulous, and amorphous for a reason. It prevents people from holding them accountable for their actions. They can then act punitively in an arbitrary fashion as they justify authoritarianism by appealing to unearned righteousness.
