What we see in microcosm within the Tory party is a perfect metaphor for the issues in the UK as a whole culminating in the vote for Brexit. Take a long hard look, the EU isn't broken, the UK is. Blaming the EU for our own inequities and inadequacies will only make it worse. 1/2

The exact same thing, I'm told by a family friend who lived through it, happened to Malaysia a few decades ago. Blamed their close ties to the UK and US for all their own problems, drew back from those ties instead of fixing the issues and lost 30 years of progress as a result.
