Sharing answers to top q's we’re seeing about the thumbnail experiment: – Custom thumbs aren't going away – 99.7% still see the creator's custom thumbnail – A lot of creators use auto-generated thumbnails, this test helps improve them for those using them: https://goo.gl/A7oDmr
How would it influence the result when it’s chosen randomly who gets to see which thumbnail?

Now you know about the test, are you more or less likely to click on a video which is auto-generated if you are part of the 0.3%? You probably have a preference as a creator to custom thumbnails. Thus affecting the results.

I get that they can’t tell the audience, but they could tell the creators whose thumbnails they use for the experiment. And then let them decide if they want to participate. If it can possible affect a creator’s revenue, they should have a say in it.
