Wonder if anyone that follows me on Twitter is like an amazing guitarist or guitar teacher. Been playing guitar for years casually but decided that this year I'll make an effort to be decent, realised I have way too many bad habits. Could use the help!

Try focusing more on note length. One thing ppl overlook is the way notes blend into each other. Eliminate the small pauses between notes, that gives your playing a smoother feel. Idk if that's your issue, just a thought :)

Techinque wise, "flying fingers" can cause that. When you don't have control over your left hand, so fingers move much more than needed. If that's the case try practising really slowly and concentrating on minimising finger movement for efficency :)
