There is a saying in #Finnish: "ylös, ulos ja lenkille," translating as "get up, out and running"! That is exactly what many Finns do in their past time – often together with their pets. Cooking outside is also a Finnish favourite activity. 📸

The sauna is the temple of well-being for Finns. It is the perfect place to relax, calm down, cherish health and engage in social interaction. The Finnish sauna experience is created through the joint effect of multiple senses: it includes sights, scents and sensations. 💙

Where is your happy place? For many living and visiting Helsinki, the answer is Oodi Central Library. 📚💙 The Finnish government built Oodi as a present to its citizens after the country celebrated 100 years of independence in 2017.

Finns are outdoorsy through and through. You can see them flocking to the outdoor seating areas of restaurants, bars and cafes the minute it is warm enough to sit outside. 🌞 And they don't mind doing it wearing their winter parkas, either!

There is a 1200-kilometer network of bike paths in the #Finnish capital Helsinki that makes it easy to access all parts of the city on two wheels. The whole city comes together when you cycle from A to B, and you can spontaneously stop at fun places along the way. 💙

In #Finland, new parents are given a baby box, full of clothes as well as care products and materials. The baby box can also be used as a bed, and that is why you might see #Finnish babies sleeping in cardboard boxes! Which item is your favourite? 😍 📸

One of Finns' favourite springtime rituals is dusting off their bike (or changing the tires, if they winter-biked) and hitting the streets. You don't have to own a bicycle to enjoy riding in Finnish cities, as many offer renters, like these yellow bikes, found all over Helsinki!

This is #Finnish low hierarchy at its best. 💙 Your representative can also be your next-door neighbour – and if need be, take out your trash for you.

Finnish democracy and low hierarchies in a nutshell. I bump into my neighbour. Our exchange in its entirety): - Congratulations on being elected to the parliament - Thank you! - Can you take my trash? - Uhm... Sure! (For context: she is an older lady and the yard was icy)
