What is worse is that it doesn't automatically download them ever, EVER. Everytime I switch consoles you have to redownload it before you play hahhahat

Of course. I don't see it as worse, it's like this to prevent accidental overwriting. I have my account in my Switch, set as primary, and in a friend's, as secondary. Everytime I want to play in my friend's Switch, I have to download the cloud save that I uploaded on my Switch.
