I'm surprised it hasn't to be honest. It's a pretty classic cop out argument for statists. This is pretty much the same thing though. I mean there is a well thought and and explained rationale behind the taxation is theft mindset.

When they shoot back with a, "that's the cost of doing business", it's pretty much the same as a, "nuh-uh!". And the taxes is what gives money value makes no sense, and no one that has given me that line has been able to explain how it even holds up.

There is another thread where I have been having almost the same conversation. Lol That one claims that the government makes money so therefore it's valuable.

Begin by learning the difference between money and dollars. Anyone can create money, but none other than the US federal government creates dollars. All money are not dollars, but all dollars are money. Money is debt to the issuer and an asset to the holder or user of that debt.

And if all dollars were to disappear we would replace it with another type of currency. And that still doesnt support your claim that dollars require taxation or that taxation isn't theft. You have failed to offer any actual explanation.

Who is “we” here? Why would the dollars disappear? The only way the US dollar would disappear is when the United States as a nation disappears. Period.

Are you being deliberately dense here? I really want to know. Obviously we would be people in the country. And that's entirely not true. There are plenty of ways the US dollar could disappear, don't be absurd.
