Self ownership is the most basic and important fundamental of liberty imo. The smallest majority is the individual and we gotta look out for the little guys right?! 
So what do y’all think about self-ownership? Is it really a thing? Ownership of anything else can be transferred, but not this. Your consciousness, You, can’t belong to anyone but you. Anyways, tell me your thoughts.

Good question. If your "consciousness" is the owner of the property (physical body). Stands to reason that you could get a new piece of property then. Humans just haven't figured out how to define consciousness on a tangible level yet.

1/? Ownership is often defined as the right to determine the use of a resource, and the body is no different (except for being a much more complicated resource that is intimately tied to your self/soul/mind/will). I am of the opinion that usage rights of the body are transferable

2/2 An example of this is that you can give a person a limited right to your labor via contract. Another example is that in the Christian understanding of marriage, the husband and wife surrender the ownership of their bodies to one another.

That is an interesting topic, but one that I feel that has always been assumed, at least in modern times. The thought of not being self-owned makes my American, Southern blood boil....
