Surprisingly the best setup experience was my banking (!) app. ING displayed a QR code on the new device which I scanned in the old app and voila. Supports Face ID toopic.twitter.com/FGPhAQElPd

It’s crazy that your iMessage history only transfers to a new device if you restore a full backup. Another reason to use Telegram or WhatsApp
