Most locals will use the underground trams and metros, while the overground ones are used more by tourists. But I’m pretty sure locals would love to use a modern above ground tram!
I had a nice talk with a train conductor when I traveled by train from SF to Googlehq. DEDICATED trains and platforms for the hourly service. Such a waste. Mind was blown when I told her about our 10 min system at every major city in the Netherlands.
