Also somewhat common in European cities (eg. Lissabon, Antwerp, Milan). Not usually on the busiest lines, but obviously a pain to board if you're have mobility problems, driving a kid on a stroller,...pic.twitter.com/Zqgd8d9lS8

I get it. I was wondering the same. Is this just for tourists, or does this solve a real problem? The number of cars was strange in that part of SF. Back home, it would have been a high-quality tram (with wifi and charging ports). Do locals use these?

Most locals will use the underground trams and metros, while the overground ones are used more by tourists. But I’m pretty sure locals would love to use a modern above ground tram!
