This whole article was so insanely mind boggling. None of the goals of free market competition are achieved. How is this an acceptable outcome? Where is the outrage?

I mean… Americans are pretty mad… Political science hat on: people feel powerless. Due to gridlock in Washington as a result of an over abundance of veto points in American government the results of elections are not strongly enough attached to policy outcomes (and vice versa)

Lots of people are mad for sure. Though there is a large group of white (primarily male) voters who care more about status than their own welfare.
