I’m hearing more well-funded scaleups considering outright buying developer agencies to hire 20-200(!) engineers, because hiring is getting tough/slow, they have tons of funds, and they assume this is a shortcut. Any first- or second-hand experiences on this working or failing?

I remember telling that team “I had a campus card at NYU. I put $25 on it at the beginning of the year to be able to print on compus. That’s all that it is used for. No way it’s suitable for Uber rides”
