Shout out to @lyft for finally letting people opt out of marketing push notifications. Every app using remote notifications should be required to do this to pass review.pic.twitter.com/C6T0VuYuA9
You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
Rule 4.5.4 requires apps to provide an opt-out setting for promotional push notifications https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#apple-sites-and-services … I still think this should live in the Settings app instead of the individual apps. And I think it should require a promo specific opt-in dialog.pic.twitter.com/qWt159FiXe
The per app setting breaks too often and companies have no incentive to monitor thathttps://twitter.com/thijsniks/status/1324915323586240512 …
Totally. Apple hasn’t done anything (I hope) because they’re going to totally revamp it with channel level type controls at a system level but we’ll see. Unfortunately for small and big apps it’s still a PIA to manage (I screw up with my homebuilt opt-out solution sometimes)
