My parents had these on their iPhones after getting to the USA from vacation in South America a few weeks ago; they’re actually manually subscribed calendar feeds that you have to remove in Settings However, I don’t know how the calendar feeds got subscribed to
Ooooh, that’s fascinating. I guess Safari will ask whether you want to subscribe when you load a calendar feed? Not sure what triggers the loading though. Ad exchange hijack?
Yah I have seen these trigger from ad banners. Safari does ask, but you can finesse the name of the calendar to make it more likely that folks add it.
I can imagine many people just tap OK to get rid of this dialog. Wonder why the button doesn’t say “Subscribe.” Seems a HIG violationpic.twitter.com/bWRIlp267K
