I’m trying to figure out how to send $6000 from my Chase bank account to my wife’s Chase account for our income tax payment and the answer is to either:
- Write a free paper check
- Send $2000 for 3 days through Zelle
- Pay $25 for a wire transfer

Chase is on the real-time payments (RTP) network. Feels high tech when it works... almost as good as the payment systems in places like India or Mexico

True! RTP is legit (though has a fascinating but insane structure underneath to make it work). FedNow is where we will see real change, but consumer adoption still requires dropping ABA and using IBAN or similar and nobody is talking about

Fascinating! I didn't know they increased it from $25k to just $100k last year https://www.pymnts.com/news/payment-methods/2020/rtp-raises-transaction-threshold-to-100k/ … Can't really find which limits individual banks use though.
